The Rights and Rewards Project's Digital lifecycles and file types: final report will be of interest to anyone planning an Institutional Repository. The report, which amply demonstrates the "complexity of the issues associated with digital file formats, lifecycles, metadata and standards relevant to repository services" (49), describes actual workflows used at Loughborough University, and additional hypothetical workflows, to illustrate the role of digital lifecycles in digital preservation.
